Welcome to the AI Café 2025

 

Dear reader,

Luxembourg has set ambitious goals to position itself as a digital pioneer in Europe. In the strategic paper AI - A Strategic Vision for AI, three key objectives were laid out:

  1. To be among the most advanced digital societies in the world, especially within the EU
  2. To become a data-driven and sustainable economy
  3. To support the development of human-centric AI

This vision embraces innovation in the public sector - through the promotion of smart cities, fostering a trustworthy and people-centred approach to AI in industry and society, enhancing digital skills, and increasing public understanding of AI. The aim: to strengthen digital sovereignty while aligning with European values.

Just recently, a follow-up paper was released: Luxembourg’s AI Strategy – Accelerating Digital Sovereignty 2030. It builds on the earlier vision and sets the tone for the coming years. Luxembourg aspires to become a living laboratory for AI in Europe - a place where digital and technological innovation is driven by human values, agility, sustainability, and international collaboration.

“By 2030, Luxembourg aims to be a nation of digital and technological innovation, centred on people. To achieve this, it is committed to creating a dynamic and inclusive digital ecosystem, where both public and private sectors—as well as research institutions—play an active role. With its economic vitality, international openness, and reliable digital infrastructure, Luxembourg is well-placed to lead the way in AI, data valorisation, and quantum technologies. The strategy supports not only technological and economic progress but also the well-being of its citizens.”

In light of these developments, this year’s AI Café will focus on Luxembourg’s strategic vision for AI and digital transformation. Our goal is to create a space for dialogue, discovery, and collaboration - with citizens, experts, and entrepreneurs alike. Let’s shape the future of AI in Luxembourg, together.
